We do not have that limitation - our controllers are fully redundant, either controller can 'take over' for
all of the drives on the volume should one ever fail.
Under Xsan, with the Xserve RAID I had to dedicate one controller to a small metadata volume, and if that controller failed my entire SAN went down - how is Active Storage different?
